Introduction
The magic castle range replaced the castle range in
1999 but all the figures are compatible with each other - it's just
that only the magic castle ones will be able to unlock sounds on the
castle's footpad. This whole range is one of my favourites, not just
because of the magic sounds, but also because of the figures 'chunky'
style which I think gives them wonderful personality. Below you will find a list of all the
magic castle sets that I have
found - If you
know of anything not listed please let me know (address is at the
bottom of the page).

Great Adventures Magic Castle (1999-2001)
A magical castle with a 21st century twist! The all-seeing eyes
of the castle's lion face recognize the knights of the realm as they
approach the castle...and the Magic Castle responds with sounds and
lights. If an enemy knight dares to trespass, the lion roars and his
eyes flash fiery red. But the determined enemy can still gain entry
with a direct cannonball hit to the lion's nose. When a good knight
approaches torches flash, trumpets blast, broad-swords clash and
cheers ring out. Entry to the castle is granted to loyal knights when
the lion's green eyes light up and the drawbridge opens.

Description
The set consists of a 'magic' castle and it's main feature is a unique
magic footpad enables castle to 'recognise' figures and activate their
unique sounds, lights and actions. Depending on the figure the lion's
eyes will then glow green (and drawbridge will open) or red (and
drawbridge will stay closed). The torches on either side will also
flash and hitting the nose of the lion can also make the drawbridge
open. The set comes with 5 figures, all of which have different
effects when placed on this footpad: When the good king is placed on
footpad there is either the sound of trumpets and the drawbridge
opens, the sound of the king winning a fight and the drawbridge opens
or the sound of the king losing a fight and the drawbridge stays
closed. When the good knight is placed on footpad the sounds of
trumpets or clashing swords and cheers are heard and the drawbridge
opens. When the dark knights are placed on the footpad the sounds of
the lion roaring or shouting are heard and the drawbridge stays
closed. When the jester is placed on the footpad there is either the
sound of laughter and the drawbridge stays closed or cheering laughter
and the drawbridge opens; other figures in the range unlock other
sounds and events. The castle also includes a dungeon with opening
door, a secret passage with opening door, a ladder for scaling walls
and a firing cannon with three cannon balls it requires 3 "C"
batteries.

Great Adventures Magic Royal Coach (1999-2001)
This coach is fit for a king...especially one
who's being attacked. It magically transforms into a battle wagon with
the roof opening up to launch a cross bow! When you use it with the
Great Adventures Magic Castle place the coachman on the magic footpad
to hear horse sounds announce the coach's arrival!

Description
This Royal coach can quickly be
transformed into a mobile battle machine - pulling the lever
makes the roof fold open and the crossbow appear, press the button on
it to fire one of the two included arrows. The door at rear of coach
opens to allow figures to enter and the horse can be removed from
harness and ridden by coach driver and other figures. The set comes
with 1 Coach Driver Figure (place him on the magic castle footpad to
hear the sounds of horses hooves or neighing, the drawbridge will then
open).

Great adventures Magic Dragon (1999-2001)
This mythical beast comes to life to bring danger and excitement
to any castle adventure! Push the button to open his mouth, flap his
wings and send chills throughout the kingdom.

Description
This large dragon features a button on his
back to move his wings make his mouth open. The arms, head and tail
all move and you can place the tip of tail on the magic castle footpad
to unlock dragon growling noises. |

Great Adventures Magic Cyclops (1999-2001)
With his all-seeing eye, the awesome giant Cyclops is the
scariest enemy in the whole kingdom! Beware when you push the
button and he swings his mighty mace.

Description
This monster has
a button on his back that
makes him swing his mace, his head and other arm also move. You can
place his mace on the magic castle footpad to unlock stomping and
wicked laughing noises.

Great Adventures Magic Jousting Knights
(2000-2001)
When these two daring
knights start to battle, one can knock the other off his horse with a
touch to the shield! They also create special lights and sound when
placed on the magic castle footpad.

Description
This set enable all the excitement of
jousting matches to be recreated in the Great Adventures world and
consists of two knights and two horses. The knights lances can be
position as desired and then the knight can be placed on the horse.
The horses are wheeled so they can be rolled towards each other and
the first lance to hit the opponents shield will cause the opposing
knight to be 'ejected' from his saddle - making the other one the
winner. Each rider also unlocks special sounds and events when place
on the magic castle footpad.

Great Adventures Magic Skeletons And Ghost
(1999-2001)
You will think the kingdom
is truly haunted when these spooky characters arrive on the scene!
They are especially scary after dark, when they take on an eerie glow.

Description
This set consists of a ghost, a skeleton and a mummy. All three
figures glow in the dark and when each is placed on the footpad they
make screaming or rattling noises and the drawbridge stays closed.

Wizard And Witch
(1999-2001)
There's sorcery afoot when
the wizard and witch arrive in the kingdom. You will be amazed at what
they conjure up, especially when it is dark and they glow like magic!
Description
This set consists of a Wizard, a Witch and a Magic Ball, all of
which glow in the dark. When each is placed on the magic castle
footpad they either make the sound of thunder and the drawbridge stays
closed or a magical noise and the drawbridge opens.

Good Knights (2000-2001)
The good knights are ready to save the magic castle from evil
forces. Place them on the castle footpad to hear trumpets blast, broad
swords clash and cheers ring out. The lion's green eyes light up and
the drawbridge opens!

This is a pack of three Good Knights, each
with moveable arms - add them to your Great Adventures army for even
bigger battles! They all unlock sounds and events when placed on the
magic castle footpad.

Dark Knights (2000-2001)
The
forces of evil try to invade the castle when these dark knights
arrive. Place them on the magic castle footpad to hear the lion roar
and see his eyes flash red. Don't expect the drawbridge to open for
these villains!

This is a pack of three Dark Knights, each
with moveable arms - add them to your Great Adventures army for even
bigger battles! They all unlock sounds and events when placed on the
magic castle footpad.
