Introduction
Along with the castle range, this is one of the
original and most popular ranges of figures. As it was so popular most
of the figures are relatively easy to get hold of, the only exception
being the newer range (double duel pirate ship and accessories) which
were only available in Europe. Despite being hard to get I recommend
making the effort to track them down as they are easily the best
pirate sets. Below you will find a list of all the Pirate sets that I have
found - If you
know of anything not listed please let me know (address is at the
bottom of the page).

Fisher Price
great Adventures Pirate Ship (1995-97)
This pirate ship is ready to set sail, from the top mast to the
hull with wheels that make a rolling wave action. Anchors away!
Description
This pirate ship features special wheels so that when it is rolled
along it bobs up and down as if it is floating on the waves. The
middle section of deck lifts up to reveal a foldaway firing cannon and
two cannon balls. It has a moveable anchor, retractable plank, turning
wheel, moveable crows nest, detachable dinghy with firing grappling
hook and plenty of rigging for climbing. It comes with Captain
Goodheart and 4 other crew members (all with moveable arms) as well as
a treasure chest, a telescope and a small table - everything you need
for adventure on the high seas!

Great Adventures Dragon Pirate Ship
(1998)
Get ready for hours
of surprises and fun with the Great Adventures pirate ship! Pop out
the dragon-head boat and use it as an enemy vessel or send it on a
scouting mission. When it's time to walk the plank, somebody's in for
a soaring surprise! "Hook" the enemy when you fire a harpoon from the
cannon, and turn imagination loose on the high seas.
Description
This pirate ship has a button that when pressed launches the mini
Dragon Boat from the front of the hull. There is a firing harpoon that
can be attached to the front of the main boat or the dragon ship.
There is a plank that enemies can be made to walk, a spinning steering
wheel, opening cargo doors on the deck and plenty of rigging for
climbing. It comes with a Captain and 2 other pirates (all with
moveable arms).

Great Adventures Double Duel Pirate Ship
(1999-2000)
It's two ships in one for twice the fun, as
kids create imaginative battles between good and evil forces. They'll
love the thrilling action, electronic sounds, flashing lights and
special "explosive" features! Shoot duelling cannons at shield of
opposing ship for exploding sounds, "firebursts" and battle damage.
When cannonball hits shied of Pirate ship, jail walls break open; on
Royal Navy ship, mast collapses. Place the figures on the special
footpad to unlock surprises in the magic treasure chest! For evil
pirates, it holds snakes, bones and scary sounds. Only heroic figures
will find shiny treasure! Requires 6 "AA" batteries.
Description
This pirate special light and sound ship splits in half for twice the
fun. One side becomes a Royal Navy ship and the other becomes a Pirate
ship. Both halves have firing cannons which create lights and sounds.
Each one also has a target that, when hit, activates more lights and
sounds and battle damage (the Royal Navy mast collapses and the Pirate
jail door opens). There is also a special footpad where figures can
unlock different special sounds and surprises in the magic treasure
chest. It comes with two sailors and 2 pirates and a hammock and
requires 6 "AA" batteries.

Great Adventures Pirate Island (1995-97)
Land ahoy! The
pirates come ashore with this island hideout. The tree catapult
defends it from unwelcome guests and there is a jail to lock up anyone
who makes it to shore. Will the secret cave contain buried treasure?
Description
This play set is an
excellent land hideaway for the pirates. It features a spring loaded
tree that can fire the included boulder and a lockable jail for
containing any prisoners. There is also a secret cave where the
included treasure chest can be hidden, a boat with detachable cannon
and a telescope for looking out. It comes with 1 pirate figure and his
loyal parrot.

available with a brown boat instead of a red one, I think it had
different markings on the secret door and came with a different pirate

The ship wrecker sub is ready to challenge the
great adventures pirate ship, making adventures at sea more exciting
than ever! Press the periscope to shoot torpedoes! Dispatch the
mini-sub to "drill" the ship's hull. Send the diver to the depths to
capture the octopus in a special cage. And get ready for hours of fun!
Description
This play set adds yet
more variety to the Great Adventures world of Pirates. It is an
armoured submarine that has 2 torpedoes which can be fired by pressing
down on the periscope. It has a spinning propeller, moveable fishing
rod and the side door opens for transporting figures. There is also a
mini sub which can be detached from the front with a spinning drill.
It comes with a diving pirate, an octopus and an opening cage.

Great Adventures Shark Raft (1995-96)
This captain has lost
his ship and crew, but with his make shift shark raft he can still
terrorize the high seas. The sharks mouth opens, the catapult fires
barrels and the crows nest can be climbed to look out for land.
Description
This play set features a
small raft disguised as a shark. The sharks mouth opens and closes and
the three barrels can be fired by the catapult. There is also a crows
nest that the included pirate figure can climb into.

(1998)

Great Adventures Sea Serpent
(1997-98)
This two-headed sea serpent is double trouble
for even the bravest pirates from the great adventures pirate ship! He
changes from mean to silly as his heads bob up and down and his feet
flap all round. Will the snorkelling pirate be able to catch him?
Description
This Sea Serpent has
feet that flap and two heads that bob when it is rolled along the
ground. It's tail also moves and the included swimming pirate has a
capture clip which can be attached to it's neck or tail.
